Navigating FDNY's Permit Requirements

Fire protection systems - alarms, sprinklers, standpipes, and suppression systems - typically require their own permits and inspections through the Fire Department of New York, separate from a project's DOB approvals. ECC prepares and files these FDNY applications, working directly with the Bureau of Fire Prevention to keep fire safety approvals moving in step with the rest of a project.

We coordinate the associated inspections and testing FDNY requires before sign-off, and help identify which certificate-of-fitness holders a building or business needs to maintain ongoing compliance.

One Point of Contact

Because fire safety filings often depend on coordination between the design team, the installing contractor, and the building's operations staff, ECC serves as a single point of contact to keep FDNY filings from becoming the item that holds up a certificate of occupancy or a business's ability to open.
